BIOGRAFHY

Michel Briand is a freelance contemporary and commercial dance artist, and dance teacher.

He graduated from SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance) in 2017. During his education program he extended his dance studies to New York City ( Tisch School of the Arts – New York University) and London ( London Contemporary Dance School – The Place).

Further one he studied Commercial and Jazz Dance in Zürich,  Paris, London, and New York City.
 

Since 2017 Michel works as a freelance artist for the Opera Zürich (Philippe Giraudeau, Denise Lampart),  Arthur Kuggeleyn, Tamas Mester, Tiziana Cocca, Nadine Imboden, Grazia Covre and the Deutsche Fernsehballet (Carla Oya, Agata Boguslawska, Ludwig Mond)

Michel also creates his own works. He choreographed for the Open Air Gampel "Gerd & da Polis", for the Musikdorf in Ernen "L´histore du soldat"  and he performed various solo pieces in little festivals in and around Switzerland.


The Canton Valais (CH) rewarded Michel with the Cultural Advancement Award in 2018 and with a 6 months artist residency in Berlin in 2020. 

 

Next to his work as a freelance artist, Michel teaches Contemporary and Commercial Dance.
